端午龍舟合家歡－清風涼水暢划龍舟來踢走炎夏

　　由中佛州中美協會主辦的端午龍舟合家歡，於5月22日在奧蘭多市的Lake Fairview Park－地點為奧蘭多划艇會舉行，近百名中外僑胞齊來共樂，在清涼湖風吹送下，活動由早上9時開始至中午結束。    

　　中美龍舟隊（C.H.A.R.G.E.）全體隊員全力協助，加上奧蘭多龍舟會及Women Playing For T.I.M.E (粉紅女士龍舟會)等多名外籍義工們齊心協力之下，百多名中外僑胞學習與暢划了龍舟。是次與會僑胞除中美協會的部份會員外，還有中華學校的師生，奧蘭多專業人士協會的部份會員，REACH of Central Florida的青年組織成員等。

　　首先安排與會中外僑胞，跟隨菲律賓裔資深龍舟教練Grace Genetia在陸上學習龍舟基本划船的姿勢，動作等正確方法與技巧，然後再分成三組先後登上龍舟在湖中實習．教練Grace Genetia在龍舟上再仔細指導學員之技巧，慕求讓每名學員可以學習到正確之划龍船技巧，一個正確的划龍船技巧隨了增加在比賽中爭取勝利外，還保障學員不會因運動而受傷。最重要是從運動中獲取最大的樂趣。

　 　全日龍舟學習初班，於正午前完成，接著大家齊來享用由金漢酒家提供的美味午餐。大家飽餐之際，鍾博婷、鍾博盈為大家獻上扯鈴表演，大小朋友無不讚好。接 著他倆再讓有興趣的中外僑胞，嚐試玩扯鈴，鍾氏更從旁指導。中美協會舞蹈社社長吳淑慧則為小朋友帶來迷李水池遊戲，讓這群仍未可以學習龍舟運動的孩子們嬉 水暢玩一番。
　　鍾博婷、鍾博盈活動時表示，中華佛州華裔青年協會將於6月11日，9am-2:30pm於傑城（Jacksonville），25日，9am-2:30pm於奧蘭多市舉辦＜暑期扯鈴研習營－Chinese Yo-Yo Summer Camp＞，費用每人只$20（包括扯鈴，點心，請自備午餐）。詳情請聯絡Robert Chung (407)408-5555，或Kenny Chen (407) 683-3693。

　　中佛州中美協會龍舟隊（C.H.A.R.G.E.）隊長蔣健強活動後表示滿意有多組家庭成員夫妻、父子檔上陣，另有與會的中、外籍僑胞活動後主動申請加入龍舟隊，或查詢有關學習龍舟，或如何協助其工作處組織龍舟隊事宜。

　 　中美協會副會長劉程驥活動後表示，並不滿意與會僑胞人數，畢竟活動原意是為中美協會僑胞會員，及居住中佛州的僑胞可以在中佛州享受到一個傳統的中國節慶 而設，活動所訂舉辦日期亦為遷就僑胞可以在孩子放暑假前而特意安排，租用昂貴的龍舟與專業教練，還有中美協會幹事團隊與中美龍舟隊全體隊員無私盡力地安排 整個活動…。能夠在端午節(6月6日)來臨之際來享受一個真正可以划龍舟活動的端午節，中美協會所辦的算是唯一的一個，亦可能是整個中佛州的唯一。

　 　龍舟運動本來就是一個最能發揮 “團隊精神＂的運動遊戲，可喜的是中美協會幹事們便真正發揮了團隊精神。寄望將來再舉辦同類型活動時，能夠獲得華裔僑胞們的熱烈支持。或許有僑胞們認為他 們不懂泳術因而對此項運動郤步，事實龍舟運動有足夠安全措施，龍舟隊員登船都需要配備安全救生背心的。

中佛州中美協會端午龍舟合家歡活動5/22日舉辦

　　龍舟運動沿自中國，近年較多參與的為外國僑胞，他們熱愛和積極參與龍舟運動，主因運動康健身心，還有最重要是，皆因此項運動極需要船上廿名隊員發揮其團隊合作精神。每名划船隊員需要配合船上其餘19名隊員的一致步伐，方能讓龍舟邁步全速航行，直往終點取得勝利。

        　　過去數年中美協會曾舉辦龍舟合家歡活動，跟佛州華人聯合會租用兩艘龍舟，讓中佛州僑胞們可以輕鬆且便宜地一嚐划龍船的滋味。本年度將於5月22日再度舉行，地點為奧蘭多划艇會：2200 Lee Rd., Orlando FL 32810。大人門票＄15（連龍船賽活動，必須13歲或以上，需即場填報便責聲明），小童12歲或以下$5，門票包午餐一份及水一支。中美龍舟合家歡活動包括龍舟速成訓練班（必須13歲或以上），參與者會被分成不同組別，學習正統划龍船方法，然後分組安排划龍舟。詳情請留意中美協會網頁：http://OrlandoChinese.org
　　奧蘭多龍舟會自去年4月的第一艘龍舟下水禮成後，中佛州中美協會便搶先組成奧蘭多市第一支亞裔龍舟隊（C.H.A.R.G.E.），更於去年10月首度參賽狄斯奈龍舟節，雖未能一仗奪標，但未減中美隊舟隊各隊員的興趣。本年4月分別先後參予Tavares市舉辦的中佛州龍舟賽，和天柏市舉行的天柏灣龍舟賽。

　　中佛州中美協會龍舟隊（C.H.A.R.G.E.）成立於去年6月，隊員中包括中美協會會長劉何美蓮先生劉智勇和兩名兒子，副會長劉程驥伉儷，幹事江昭瑢, 莫慧秀, 蔣健強, 前會長金文德, 舞 蹈社社長吳淑慧伉儷，及其他中美協會會員和家屬成員等組成。龍舟隊三仗雖仍未取得任何組別的冠軍獎牌，但無損隊員間對龍舟運動的熱愛，相反隊員間不單增長 了深厚的合作精神，亦同時間提升了會員間在辦理中美協會主辦之活動時之協調性與合作性。龍舟隊實際於三仗中不斷進步中，每仗都只因敗於對手太強。

　　筆者訪問中美龍舟隊的隊員，均表示能夠划龍舟並參與龍舟運動比賽，從前在曾居住的中、港、台城市均沒有可能發生的事情，現在郤可以輕而易舉地參與這項運動，並且花費絕不昂貴。再者龍舟運動本來起源自中國，能夠享受龍舟運動之樂趣，作為保留中華傳統的精神。

　　由中佛州中美協會幹事和會員所組成的龍舟隊，上週六創新該隊成績參與中佛州龍舟大賽。

　　上週六舉行的中佛州龍舟大賽，40隊健兒中，中佛州中美協會龍舟隊（C.H.A.R.G.E.）成為全日唯一的亞裔龍舟隊。中美龍舟隊成立於去年6月，隊員包括中美協會副會長劉程驥伉儷，幹事江昭瑢, 莫慧秀, 蔣健強, 前會長金文德, 舞蹈社社長吳淑慧伉儷，及其他中美協會會員等組成。首次參加的公開比賽為去年十月在狄斯奈舉行的龍舟公開賽，而今次仍是第二次參與正式公開比賽。

　　雖然中美龍舟隊未能於組別賽事中勝出，由於龍舟隊員上下一心努力以赴，再次創新自我紀錄，從初出道的2分35秒躍進到2分21秒。中美龍舟隊將於4月30日再次參與天柏灣龍舟賽，隊員將會在這兩週內會加緊練習，冀望再有新突破的成績。

Dragon Boat and me 2010 龍舟與我

昨晨的龍舟練習中, 首度被教練點名讚賞我的划船姿勢,力度等. 均有相當好的表現. 本應十分興奮的, 但事實上又未有點覺得好正的感覺..... (何解?)

相反地, 心諗自己有水準來參與其它高級組, 又或是國際隊的入門資格呢? ha ha... 真有點兒是"妙想天開"了。

其實划龍船這玩意, 老婆較我的與趣更濃。我最初只是"陪著她走"而矣。但經過近半年來的練習和一次比賽後, 對於這一項極需要團體精和體力的運動。亦漸漸成為我的興趣項目之一，相對地我會更認真地來練習來答謝CAACF中佛州中美協會, 隊長John, 和各隊友們的努力。

AACC Business After Hours - Jul 2010 @ Tastings of Orlando

A Taste of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce at Tastings

The Asian American Chamber of Commerce Business After-Hours venues are as diverse as its members. This year, we’ve held them at the City Arts Factory, Ming Court, Robb & Stucky, Sam’s Club, Orlando City Hall and IKEA. The AACC Business After-Hours for July has been another refreshing experience. It was held last July 15th at Tastings, a Wine Experience, in Downtown Orlando. The event was chaired by AACC Secretary, Coco Johnston who made sure a good time was had by all.

Unlike other AACC Business After-Hours that normally have speakers or a set agenda, the July event at Tastings was laid back to give members and guests a chance to network in a relaxed atmosphere. A unique addition to the evening was the presence of Ruby, a psychic from Las Vegas, who provided free palm and tarot card readings for fun and entertainment. Special thanks go to Steve Piantieri of Tastings for sponsoring the event and providing complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres.

There were also eleven guests also took advantage of the great opportunity to become AACC members. Non-members can avail of the pro-rated membership fee of only $50.00 and enjoy membership benefits until December, 2010 such as free admission to standard Business After- Hours events. Celebrates Five Years of Asia Trend Magazine

To honor and celebrate Asia Trend Magazine’s five years of growth and publication, the Asian American Chamber of Commerce invited its members and guests to WA Japanese Fusion and Sake Bar on September 16, 2010.

Asia Trend Magazine and Wa, located near Universal Studios at 5911 Turkey Lake Road #102 in Orlando, sponsored the Asian Chamber’s September networking event. Guests sampled some of Wa’s finest Japanese sushi and cuisine as well as its sake bar. Guests were also entertained by REACH members Hans and Frank Lau’s violin performance; an energetic Japanese taiko performance led by Master Takemasa Ishikura; and original Chinese calligraphy by Mr. Peter Lau.

Nina Yon, the Chamber’s Vice President of Internal Affairs, served as emcee and stated, “We are thrilled to help celebrate Asia Trend Magazine’s five years of phenomenal growth and accomplishment. In particular, publishers C.K. (Gary) Lau and Shally Wong have worked incredibly hard to ensure its success. We look forward to another successful five years and beyond.”

Chinese Cultural Show 中華文藝晚會

京劇匯粹慶賀佛州春節．華洋喜逢欣賞中華藝術

　 大年初七人日，中華文藝晚會晚上舉行，由中美協會主辦，文藝晚會共有近二百多來賓，貴賓包括楊喬生伉儷，岑瀑嘯醫生伉儷，金文德醫生伉儷，OCPA奧蘭多 中國專業人士協會三十多名會員，AACC美亞商會會長Becky Szymanski及UCF中佛州大學越南裔學生會顧問Karen Nguyen，世界日報資深記者Wendy，等。雖較預期中為少，郤有許多觀眾都是前來即場購票欣賞。是次演出場地為Winter Park High School - 9th Grade Center，一個設有近七百座位的大型學校會堂。

　有緣可以欣賞到國家級藝術家的高水準演出，實在是榮幸。事實自己並非粵劇或京劇愛好者，更是談不上懂得深入地欣賞這類國粹表演藝術。開場前跟房玉麟先生打個照呼，這位一級大師完全沒有架子，十分親民。

　 開場由兩名司儀Helern以國語和劉翠玉女士以英語介紹每段演出京劇及演出者簡介。兩頭精靈北獅金光閃閃，靈活舞動於舞台之上作為賀歲開場最適合不過， 由房玉麟，趙剛，趙彪和孫振國擔綱。接著來由著名魔術師楊新英女士演出精彩魔術，她更邀請台下觀眾協助演出，近距離上演神奇魔術，小孩子看得最為高興。

　 第三個節目由房玉麟先生演出京劇節子戲《呂布試馬》，看他功架做手非凡，一式從桌上躍下再一字馬，全場掌場如雷。接著第四個節目由另一位京劇大師于榮女士 演出梅派名劇《覇王別姬》，她扮相嬌肖，舞弄手上雙劍演譯一代美人最後一舞。再來第五個節目，由趙剛與趙彪兩位師傅演出著名京劇《三岔口》，全劇以動作聞 名，連場精密翻騰武打。所有的“功夫”都是在夜晚的黑暗中進行，而舞台上大家所看到的卻是亮堂堂的場景，這正是京劇藝術語言最高境界。

　 中場稍作休息時段，中佛州中華學校校長俞孟貞頒發五年老師服務獎項獎項予林蕤老師，中美協會會長周曼宜頒發精美金龍紀念獎座予Winter Park High School - 9th Grade Center，表楊學校租借出課室來授中文課，一直支持推動中文學習，由學校老師代為接受。而房玉麟先生與于榮女士送贈一幅精美藝術國畫予以中美協會留 念，周曼宜會長代為接受，中美協會亦送贈紀念品給與房玉麟先生等人。接著由中華學校武術班同學演出，導師羅禮教導有方，學生拳腳兵器舞得虎虎生猛。中華學 校舞蹈班九女二男學員，演出由龍之傳奇導師排練只有短短兩個月的疊羅漢與體操，搏取全場掌聲與驚喜。

　節目 繼續進行，楊新英女士表演更多精彩魔術，包括她擅長的撲克魔術。第七個節再次由趙剛與趙彪兩位師傅演出的《猴戲》，齊天大聖偷蟠桃與天兵大戰的情節。再來 便是壓軸《雙蝶魂》，房玉麟與于榮兩位大師穿上彩蝶戲服，再加上中華學校舞蹈班女學員粉墨登場客串，女同學舞弄彩帶配合，場面華麗，這是她們花了一個下午 採排練習這個表演的成果，年輕華裔學生有緣能國家級藝術大師同台演出，簡直是畢生之榮幸。

觀眾當中華裔雖然佔大比例，可是連美國人，越南裔和菲律賓裔觀眾也前來捧場欣賞，他們根本是聽不懂和不太明白劇情，他們都是抱著欣賞另一種藝術，於價值而言簡直是無可估計。期望下一次全院滿座的場面盛大出現。

　二月廿四日，完成由中佛州中美協會主辦的中華文藝晚會，我跟太太可以鬆一口氣，兩個星期共參與了六個農曆賀歲慶節目。由年三十晚開始，Winter Park China Garden Restaurant（金漢海鮮酒家）主辦的第八屆新春醒獅賀禮。

 

　 大年初一早上到 TET Festival（越南裔葨曆新年）派發 Asia Trend Magazine。接著中午到1st Oriental Supermarket（第一東方超市）負責派發揮春，及協助 J-Club, Teri 女士安排日本少年太鼓表演...等。下午二時半趕往 Crazy Buffet 預備中美協會主辦的新春晚宴，成功有接近七百名中外貴賓來臨。

　大年初二中午再到第一東方超市，協辦及採訪第二天的日本表演隊伍。第一輪農曆新春活動終於結束，結果太太辛勞過度病倒了兩天... 我則因為需要趕製手上的廣告設計工作，馬不停蹄休閒不得，順利完成部份工作。

　 年初七人日，重要時刻終於來臨，中美協會主辦中華文藝晚會晚上舉行，場刊趕完成，中午趕往印刷，然後送往會場，佈置會場，播放昨晚趕作之Crazy Buffet新春晚宴錄像DVD，播放給予上星期沒有來參與的來賓看。文藝晚會共售出二百多門票，雖較預期中為少，並沒有失望。

　 有緣可以欣賞到國家一級藝術家的高水準演出，實在是榮幸。事實自己並非粵劇或京劇愛好者，談不上懂得深入地欣賞這類表演藝術，可是我也曾於台上演出過 （Saxophone music），深深感受得到一點是，表演者是需要觀眾的支持和鼓勵。來賓只有二百多名使我有點失望，當中華裔雖佔大多數，可是連美國人，越南裔和菲律賓裔 觀眾也來捧場欣賞，他們根本是聽不懂和不太明白劇情。期望下一次全院滿座的場面盛大出現。
