Asian Gala 2006 晚宴為善最樂‧籌募亞裔學生獎學金
每年一度的Asian Gala晚宴於上週六(5/13) 市中心Downtown Orlando Marriott宴會廳舉行。晚宴由六時半開始,衣著華麗的賓客一早便抵達現場,很多亞裔賓客都配合大會主題而穿上其國家的民族服裝。大會原訂的三十六席因來賓的熱烈支持而需要臨時增至四十二席,當晚的宴會主要是為佛州亞裔學生籌募獎學金,希望籌得約$10,000經費。大會委員Ada Wong協助編排座席,憑著豐富經驗及應變能力高,賓客大多滿意座席的安排;UCF越南裔學生代表落力協助迎賓工作。
晚會開始首先高唱國歌,大會主席印度裔Tim Madhanagopal致開場白後由奧市市長Buddy Dyer發表支持Asian Gala的演詞。
第一個演出項目為民族服裝巡禮,中國、越南、印度、韓國及菲律賓的代表列隊出場。龍之傳說雜技團接著演出兩項高難度的精彩演出,賓客掌聲不絕。繼續頒發多
個服務獎項,再回到表演項目,兩位菲律賓同學演出菲律賓傳統舞。接著兩位印度同學分別演出兩個不同節奏的傳統印度舞。緊接項目由《越南四季女子舞蹈團》五
位漂亮女學生演出傳統越南舞。接著由八位可愛的婆婆演出韓國傳統舞。壓軸演出項目由中華代表演出,中佛州中文學校派出三位男同學領眾出場,先來功夫表演,
十位漂亮可愛的小女生演出轉碟雜技和彩帶舞。最後由奧市專業人士協會(OCPA)代表Jenny Tony,一位音樂潛質的小提琴女孩演奏巴哈協奏曲。Asian Gala在一片歡樂氣氛下結束。
